A Message From The Owner

On May 18 we will open our gates to the public to begin Marineland's 52nd year as one of Ontario's favourite summer attractions. I would personally like to welcome all of our friends back to the park and I'm looking forward to meeting new ones! I promise you this will be our most entertaining and educational season ever.

Some of you may be aware that over the course of the last 9 months we've been the subject of vicious campaign of lies brought against us by members of the radical animal liberation movement. We were horrified by accusations of animal abuse and we invited independent investigators into the park to see for themselves. Some of the most established veterinarians in the country cleared our park of all the allegations. So did investigators from the OSPCA. Those lies were splashed all over the front page of the Toronto Star but you'd have to look hard to realize the investigations found no evidence. But that wasn't good enough for the radical animal liberation movement. They denounced the investigators as incompetent.

While it is tempting to use the phrase "you can't win" we won't. Because the truth will always prevail over lies. And this is the truth. The radicals want all zoos and aquariums everywhere closed. They have targeted Marineland today but soon they will turn their sights on the Toronto Zoo, the Ripley's Aquarium and all the others. I believe that zoos and aquariums serve a noble purpose. Parks like this one allow children to connect with amazing creatures they would likely never have the opportunity to see in a wild habitat. And when children connect with these animals they will naturally be concerned for their wild cousins as humans continue to encroach on them in nature. The children who laugh and marvel at our beluga whales and all our other animals will become their defenders and that can only help.

We love our animals at Marineland. You can see that in the eyes of the caregivers here and in the eager applications of those who dream of working here. We employ two of the best-trained veterinarians in Canada to give constant medical attention to all of our animals, especially the older ones who have retired from our shows and are living out their late years in our retirement home. We also consult with one of the top marine mammal veterinarians in the world. We're planning on a wonderful season starting in May. Some of our belugas are pregnant and they'll be giving birth soon and watching the babies swim with their moms is a breathtaking experience.

I invite you to bring the family and friends. All of us at Marineland look forward to seeing you this season. We promise you will have a whale of a time!

Border Crossing Information

U.S. citizens will be required to present ONE of the following documents for entry into the United States by land from Canada: U.S. Passport, U.S. Passport Card, Enhanced Driver's License, Nexus Card. U.S. citizen children under the age of 16 will be able to present the original copy of their birth certificate or other proof of U.S. citizenship such as a naturalization certificate or citizenship card. Smoking:

For the safety and comfort of all of our guests and animals, smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas. These designated smoking areas are conveniently located throughout the park and are clearly marked directly on the park handout map.

Guest Services Centre provides the following services

  • Lost Children
  • Locker Rentals
  • Lost and Found Items
Lockers are available in limited numbers on a first-come, first-served basis for a nominal fee.

Stroller & Wheelchair Rentals

Located in the Aquarium Dome adjacent to the main entrance. Strollers and wheelchairs are available in limited numbers on a first-come, first-served basis for a nominal fee.

Picnicking

You may bring food and beverages into the park. Alcoholic beverages and glass bottles are not permitted. Picnic areas with tables are located as you drive into the parking lot and at the Family Picnic Area within the park's grounds. Check the park map when you arrive.

Pets, Roller Blades, etc.

For reasons of safety, roller blades, skate boards, bikes and scooters are not permitted within park grounds. And, with the exception of service dogs, pets are not permitted within the park premises.

Adverse Weather

In the event of extreme weather (lightning, heavy rain, high winds), some of our rides and attractions must temporarily close until this weather passes. King Waldorf's Palace, restaurants, gift shops, Aquarium Dome, King Waldorf's Stadium and the underwater viewing area of both Coves are great places to keep busy and take shelter until the weather clears. Rides and attractions resume as soon as it is safe to do so. *Marineland follows a no refund, no raincheck policy.*


Ride Safety Restrictions

  • For reasons of safety, some rides operate under certain medical, physical and height restrictions. Rides are not recommended for people with medical conditions.

  • Children are not permitted to ride sitting on another guest's lap.

  • For safety reasons, amusement rides do not continue to operate when darkness arrives. If you are in line for a ride, as it gets dark, we cannot guarantee that you will get to board that ride.
