MARINELAND®’s Accessible Features and Services

At Marineland®, we are committed to providing a fun and enjoyable experience for all guests, including those with disabilities. We understand that accessibility is important, and we are pleased to offer a variety of features and services to ensure that all visitors can fully participate in the park’s attractions. This guide provides information on the accessible features that Marineland® has to offer, including parking, admission, wheelchair rentals, service animals, washrooms, restaurants, amusement rides, and more. We hope that this guide will help you plan your visit and make the most of your time at Marineland®.

General Accessibility:

Marineland® welcomes all visitors and offers a range of accessible features, including wheelchair rentals, accessible washrooms, wheelchair seating in the show area, ramps instead of stairs, and parking spaces reserved for visitors with disabilities. Note that the lower level of the Aquarium Dome building, which has a freshwater fish display, and the exit area for the Flying Dragon ride are not accessible.

PARKING:

An accessible parking lot is located near the front gate for vehicles of visitors with disabilities. We advise arriving early, as this area fills up quickly on busy days. Parking is always free.

Admission:

Guests with disabilities receive a discounted rate on admission. If accompanied by a support worker from an agency, the support worker also receives the discount. Although we are not part of the Access 2 Entertainment Card program, we extend this offer to guests with disabilities who present their card at the time of the transaction. Accompanying family members pay the regular rate.

Wheelchair Rentals:

Wheelchairs and strollers are available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis for a nominal fee. You can find the rental location in the Aquarium Dome building, immediately to the right of the admission area.

Electric Scooters:

Marineland® permits only electric scooters required due to a medical condition. We do not rent electric scooters.

Service Animals:

Marineland welcomes trained service animals in all areas of the park.

If we cannot easily identify that an animal is a service animal, we may ask for documentation from a regulated health professional confirming that the person requires the animal for reasons relating to their disability.

Service animals must be on a leash or harness at all times, and for safety reasons, they are not permitted on rides.

Ride attendants cannot look after the service animal while a guest rides. If a service animal shows aggressive behavior towards a Marineland® team member or guest, we may ask the guest and service animal to leave the area or the park.

Washrooms:

All washrooms have wheelchair accessible stalls and are located in various areas throughout the park: the Aquarium Dome building, below the King Waldorf® Stadium seating area, Deer Park entrance, Adult ride area (Sky Hawk), and Sky Grill.

Trainer Talk at King Waldorf® Stadium:

Guests with mobility restrictions who need to view the King Waldorf® Stadium presentation can find a two-tiered, covered viewing area to the left of the stage. Seating is limited, so Marineland® team members may request that only the person with the disability and one support person/family member remain in this area to view the presentation. A ramp is available at the back of the stadium for those who wish to view from the top. Please speak to Marineland® team members at this location for more information

Guest Services Centre & First Aid:

Guests with disabilities can obtain a ride wristband and information about access/entry protocols/policies at the Guest Services Centre, which is indicated on the park map. If guests require a private area for a medical procedure that requires assistance from another guest/caregiver/nurse, etc., they can use the First Aid building. This location can also store a guest’s medicine.

Park Emergency/Evacuation:

In the event of an emergency/evacuation, Marineland® team members will escort guests to the nearest Facility Evacuation location

Restaurants:

All restaurants and food kiosks are fully accessible, and guests are permitted to bring their own food and beverages into the park. Table service is not provided at any food outlets.

AMUSEMENT RIDES:

For Amusement Rides, guests in wheelchairs need to leave their wheelchairs to ride. Guests must be able to sit upright on their own and meet height requirements. Marineland® team members can assist, but cannot lift guests with disabilities onto the rides. A companion/support person can ride with the guest with disabilities, but must also meet ride safety requirements.

Guests with disabilities can get ride wristbands at the Guest Services Centre, allowing them and one companion/caregiver to bypass regular lines at most rides. To access the ride, guests should wait near the ride EXIT sign and not block the exit. The ride attendant will escort them onto the ride when it is safe to do so. Guests with disabilities and their companion/support person can join their party after they have waited in the regular line. Please inform ride attendants if you all wish to ride together.

AMUSEMENT RIDES:

Amusement rides incorporate safety systems designed by the manufacturer to accommodate people of average physical stature and body proportion. These safety systems may place restrictions on the ability of an individual to safely experience the ride. Guests of exceptional size, guests who have heart, back or neck trouble, pregnant women, people who have had recent surgery, people with casts, braces, restrictive devices or disabilities may not be safely accommodated by these systems. For example, height requirements are based on the size needed for restraint devices to function properly and the level of developmental maturity usually associated with a certain height.

Marineland’s safety record is excellent of which we are proud. Marineland® of Canada Inc. has the right to refuse access to a ride to anyone we feel cannot safely ride a particular ride. A ride supervisor or manager will review any exceptional cases and make the final decision. Our ride admission policies have been developed based on the recommendations of the manufacturer, our past experience and our evaluation of each ride using our knowledge of the ride under both normal and emergency operating conditions. If you have any questions or concerns about our ride policies or are unsure about your ability to safely experience a ride, ask a team member for assistance or visit our Guest Services Centre. If you are unsure of your safety, err on the side of caution and do not ride.

Please take the time to review the detailed information on each individual ride below:
